The work of illustrator Faye Moorhouse from Brighton, England recently appeared in San Francisco at Fayes Video and Espresso Bar, where her "Wonky Movie Posters Show" was exhibited. Moorhouse painted film posters for 20 very disparate movies, including A Bug's Life, Nymphomaniac, Harry and the Hendersons, Twister, and Gravity, in her signature "wonky" style (As Moorhouse tells It's Nice That, this translates to art that is "weird and ugly and hopefully funny"). The strange list of movies she chose for the series is a testament to Moorhouse's humor, as well as her ability to break from expectations. She's a children's artist, a pet portraitist, a painter who likes to paint naked people, and an artist who interacts and creates for an audience via Etsy, as well as who creates commissioned pieces for publications like The New York Times.
