The following is an interview with Nozzman, the artist behind our newest set, Darwin’s Dilemma. Go check it out!
Thanks for chatting with us Nozzman! What inspired you to become an artist?
I’ve had this urgency to draw ever since I was a little kid. Having the power to create things is so amazing to me, I want to do it all the time.
Where did you learn to do art?
Art school and drawing my ass off.
What do you collect in real life?
I love great design and a lot of great design was done in the first part of the previous century. Mostly thirties and fifties stuff.
Who are your favorite digital artists?
That really varies. I have this board on Pinterest where I throw in everything I like: http://pinterest.com/nozzman/great-visual-artists/
If you could only draw one subject for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?
Probably robots. They can have any shape you like. And since Arnold Schwarzenegger played a robot, you can get away with anything.
What subjects are your favorite to illustrate?
The greatest thing to draw is just start from one point and see where it goes. This results in weird, connected shapes, sometimes abstract, but mostly organic curvy things you can look at and discover new things in. That’s the cool thing about illustrating: you can create anything you like.
