It started out as just another case of good, old-fashioned sibling rivalry. One brother. One sister. One mission:
To be the better collector.
The contest was simple: We had one week to collect as many copies of the same piece as we possibly could.
The winner would receive credits, pieces, and (above all else) bragging rights.
Day and night, I scoured NeonMob for that one piece — that one piece which would lead me to victory.
But the entire time, she was right behind me.
I could feel her breathing down my neck with each and every piece she collected.
It was close. Too close.
But time was running out. Days were passing by.
With each waking moment, I wondered if I’d be able to keep up the pace. I wondered if I could really win.
On the final day, as the big hand slowly crawled toward the twelve, time seemed to slow. I had a lead of only a few pieces. If even a single one of her outgoing trades got accepted, I would be done for. She would be the winner. And I would never hear the end of it.
But then it hit me: I still had one final trick up my sleeve…
With seconds to spare, I rushed to the trading page.
Half a dozen prequel pieces? For just a few mere duplicates? I didn’t have the time to think about it.
I accepted the trade.
That’s when I heard the alarm go off. Time was up. The contest was over. The final count:
- Emily: 121 Duplicates
- Jared: 135 Duplicates
Relief washed over me as I came to the realization I had won.
I had won the first ever NeonFlashMob.
The credits? The pieces? The glory? All mine.
But the story doesn’t stop there. I decided I wanted an even bigger NeonFlashMob, not just for me and my sister, but for the entire NeonMob community. I contacted the NeonMob team, and they said “Go for it!”
So…. the first sitewide NeonFlashMob starts TODAY, Monday, June 3rd, and we want YOU to be a part of it.
